Indeed.

Boris is promising normality by Christmas (didn't Herbert Henry Asquith say the same ??)

Interestingly his (presumably soon to be found dead at the site of some witch coven, surrounded by piles of kiddie porn) scientific adviser is making predictions of piles of bodies int he streets that makes our forum's doom monger look optimistic.

As I may have mentioned before, I used to cast horoscopes and in my summary I would invariably note that I could see financial and emotional problems ahead, but if left in the care of time matters would sort themselves out. This was usually the case because most of us will encounter financial and emotional problems in the future but they usually sort themselves out.

So I think that the next time the government needs someone to predict the course of the economy or some fashionable bug it should consult me. I will be no more accurate than anyone else but at least I will be more upbeat, although it has to be said that I will have a job matching the blond moppet in such matters.

Sounds like a quote out of communist China .

I don't mean re-educated politically. Although I doubt threat perception can be taught except by giving some people a near death experience.

My thinking is there are now so many idiots in Britain who are a danger not only to themselves but to other people, if they can't be re-educated there is only one choice left.

Could this close family association with weapons and explosives be the reason they seem to figure so frequently in your thinking...?

Practically  every British family lost relatives in WW1. My thinking is there are now so many idiots in Britain who are a danger not only to themselves but to other people, if they can't be re-educated there is only one choice left.

On climate change — we're talking, we're beginning to act, but we're still not doing enough...

<t>In matters of taxation, Lord Clyde\'s summing up in the 1929 case Inland Revenue v Ayrshire Pullman Services is worth a glance.</t>

Last week I  was taking down the Christmas decorations and  next week I will be digging up my first crop of spuds. Time seems to fly when you don't have much to do and all the time in the  world to do it. It is supposed to be the other way round but it ain't
