On July 17, the Health Secretary asked PHE to urgently investigate the way daily death statistics had been reported, leading PHE to say it was "pausing" the daily release.

It came after Oxford University experts revealed a significant proportion of the daily out-of-hospital death toll relates to patients who recovered from the virus weeks or months earlier.

Under the previous system, anyone who has ever tested positive for the virus in England was automatically counted as a coronavirus death when they died, even if the death was from a car accident.

On climate change — we're talking, we're beginning to act, but we're still not doing enough...

Sometimes you do give rather wet answers. The question was whether Boris needs to wear a mask. I have said why he does not.

What I (or you) think about his needs seems rather unimportant.
Does he feel he needs to wear a mask? Apparently so, so he does. Shrug.

No. But tests show people who have had it have antibodies and are immune. Which is why the NHS want people who have had it to provide blood to treat those who have it.
4 years is a guestimate based on Middle East Respiratory Syndrome and SARS.

In Dudley there are now 0.9 people in 100,000 who have the virus and yet we are all being asked to wear masks not only in shops, but in airy shopping centres. What next? In the street?
How preposterous is that?
Do you think we are saving lives? Do you think Boris needs to wear a mask, if so, why?

I think masks help the situation.
If Boris wants to wear a mask then he should.

Agreed but not one that he bought.

As the comments have come. What sort of  a mess is this country in when it's government can involve itself in one balls up after another, with the added problem of dubious business arrangements.?  And the fact that an honest message comes via the BBC, is an equal target for abuse for a good many.?

Or what sort of mess is this country in that even when the government involves itself in one mess after another, it is still preferable to the antics of the self absorbed numb nuts of the left?

Here we go again , The Tories ,invincible even when they have just shit themselves for the umpteenth time . If that doesn't make them numb beyond the nuts  nothing ever will . That's the actual message don't you think. , Nothing ever will?
Oh,  it's so much easier to bare. Having our money spunked on dodgy PPE by dodgy friends of the Tory government. Simply because it's a Tory government. Only if you have a very low opinion of human behaviour, would you believe  that's a situation to last.

The most useless PPE is Boris's face mask. He can't catch it and he can't spread it in droplets from his mouth or nose. But still he wears it.
