I think that answers itself. Anyway, I feel that evil Tory taxmen nicknamed after cheese probably need to invest in a good soap.

But I think wright's coal tar soap is the original 'destroy everything' type one, as regards soap for washing clothes, you need a nice one with some conditioner.. it seems only Ariel does this

The Ariel colour+style liquid seems to work best in the wash. (having clicked on the video)

I'm sure marsellaise soap works well in the washing machine for papa too though. 👍

I tried original source in the wash but only with greens in it..

..the cabbages didn't taste right afterwards.

The French Camay brand used to be good, but now I tend to use shower gels, and original source's mint and tea tree is my go-to. If I had more money I'd prolly get a much better mint+tea tree one and a sea sponge but it is 6x as much and hardly worth it unless you're rich. Epsom salts also help the muscles in a bath.

l love Ruth Goodman and anybody that does not should be buried up to their necks in a Tudor cess pit until Peter and Alex decide to dig them out and chuck them on the pea patch. That said, I have used wood ash to strip paint so take note that it can be pretty fierce stuff.
