As atheists and agnostics also have light bulb moments, I can't think that it is God inspired in those people.
It may be, but God gave us all a brain and it is up to us how we use i us all so well that He t. Or is it?
Brains do seem to be "programmed" differently according to our inherited traits.

Mmm that's a thought but perhaps it's irrelevant. Whether someone is agnostic etc might not affect the eternal viewpoint, and perhaps God knows that a particular person has the ability to utilise the knowledge for the good of His plan and perhaps also knows that that same person will have a change of heart at some point in the future or may just be giving them a chance to prove themselves in His sight. Eg Saul and his vision and subsequent blindness. He was a really bad man as far as Christians were concerned, so there must have been something about him that God realised that even Saul didn't. I just wonder if the same applies to great discoveries. I am suspecting that the kind of inspiration I am thinking of is beyond the light bulb moment that many of us experience.

People have "Eureka!" type moments, from Archimedes figuring out about how objects float in a liquid, to people in wheelchairs pondering black holes.
One dealing with the earthly and easily provable physical principals, another dealing with theory which is more difficult to determine or ever even confirm.
Some people are clearly much more creative and intelligent in thought, than others. However, I think they still have to work very hard to get to a moment of inspiration. They may have been trying to work something out for ages, then see something random, like a person knitting, and it sparks a neurone and they have worked out the answer to their problem.

I am not suggesting that God's gifts of inspiration are not earned, but perhaps that the last little seemingly impossible push is made available to those or even the one truly searching. Even though we all accept those 'light bulb' moments, those moments of intuition or even warnings, how many would give credence to divine intervention? We take so much for granted on the impression that it is man made. Perhaps if we were able to look higher we would see beyond.

I am thinking more of those who made incredible leaps.

So am I.

Usually from people thinking that is hard work, there must be an easier way.

;D ;D at least you didn't blame the Conservatives! You have a point but I am thinking more of those who made incredible leaps.

Prompted by recent posts on another thread, where does inspiration come from? People throughout time who have come up with ideas and theories quite out of the box, proved sometimes many years later, to be correct and a major innovation for future discovery.

I maintain that God has a plan and at appropiate moments, passes information/inspiration to us which will further His overall plan for all of us. I have no doubt that I will prove to be a minority here, but that is something I am used to. How else would anyone explain the phenomenom of scientific as well as other progress in the world?
