The Brexit party certainly does not need people like her, just as UKIP did not need TR.

The party was set up in a rush and I wonder how much time was given to looking into candidate backgrounds.

As I reported, one of our local Brexit PCCs has just been showing off his shiny Conservative party membership card, so it does seem the Brexit party is as divided as the Labour and Tory parties.

No but this is incredibly serious.

Not only that. A bit more digging uncovers that shes supported legalizing child porn several times with various defenses.

Many of them are ex revolutionary commie party trotskyists who supported IRA campaigns. And they continue to have extremist positions amongst their newfangled libertarian beliefs.

Are people still going to vote for these dangerous people with extremist beliefs? I do hope not.

To be balanced: there are many unsavourtly characters in the commons. I think Harman Dromey and Hewitt played a part in trying to legalize pedophilia in the 70s and harman continued to refuse to apologize for that for a while. I may be wrong. There are numerous other incidents of MPs and the like doing bad stuff so I am just showing even handedness here.

However, that does in NO WAY excuse the brexit party for letting this evil woman serve as an MEP. It is beyond the pail. I hope members on here will agree.

Sheepy

I guess they are relying on,you will all go back to your old ways and finally give up on democracy. After 3 1/2 years of a mental battering after stepping out of line you will see you have no choices. You are in a fire and the message from Parliament is stay put.
Just because I don't say anything, it doesn't mean I haven't noticed!

Cheers. I will have to check if the Brexit candidate for where I live is  British and resident. (Looks odd to be honest.)

Unless you are a candidate or a politician or a broadcaster you are free to comment within the law.

That is why I can't comment HOW I WOULD LIKE TO and not just about Farage.

What bit of I can't comment how I would like to don't you understand?

Well, it's not that I don't "understand"

I *know* all about *purdah* and I know much but not all about the legal regulation of BROADCAST MEDIA during the long and short campaign because it hasn't changed materially in the last decade and I read EVERY WORD the electoral commission and broadcast regulators were more than happy to email me when in 2010 I emailed them advising I was thinking of standing for parliament and wished to know more of the regulations they were held to not least so I didn't commit any gaffes while canvassing in an ultramarginal seat where broadcast media attention was likely.....

They really hated me turning up as a one of four questioners on their "great debate" in Cardiff but by the time the truth was out  I'd had my chance to rubbish the main contenders.  it was bloody good fun. Peter Hain in particular was uncomfortable with my choice of +1 but couldn't work out why, until after the event when he realised it was a bloke his anti nazi league boot boys had kicked shit out of five years earlier.... Yes, that was fun ... But if their lazy arsed researchers had done their job properly when I sent in my question for scrutiny ... But the T@@@ if a producer had a total wet dream over what I could prove and had to have me come and confront the government's and opposition yes men. The thought of the viewer controversy blinded him to who was asking. Classic ...

But to come back to the point...

Unless you are a candidate or a politician or a broadcaster you are free to comment within the law. If you ARE a candidate, you have quite amazing freedom to say whatever you like wherever you like subject to speakers corner rules, no incitement to illegal activity, no libel and no rioting

I also know that while arsebook and twatter have both clamped down on paid for political advertising and the left want these platforms and blogs treated as broadcast media, they are not and cannot be limited as the 'free' press and TV can.

SO

We are left with what you want to say breaches the public order act, obscenity act, antiterrorism legislation or is an incitement to violence, disorder, riot, mayhem or conspiracy to any or all of the above.

Plus the possibility you are hyping up the reality. Which I am in no position to judge.

A former general election candidate for the Brexit Party has stood down after it emerged that she believes she comes from the star Sirius and that aliens are already working with world governments.

Jill Hughes, who was the party's prospective candidate for Batley and Spen, also believes in "elves/fairies/mermaids/unicorns and all things elemental and otherworldly", and that her horse was reincarnated as another horse.

The candidate, who does not live in Batley and Spen, does not even have a connection to the constituency's Leave campaign, according to social media comments.

Hughes has now stood down after the party was contacted for comment on the numerous eyebrow-raising claims which were found by anti-far right campaign Hope Not Hate.

In social media comments made in 2017, Hughes said: "I have just come to truly realise that my purpose is to raise consciousness here on earth - I originated from Sirus."

I can't comment how I would like to about ANY politician during a General Election campaign.

If you or anyone else doesn't understand that, that really is not my problem.

In the local news this morning is that Paul Brothwood, the Dudley South UKIP PPC has resigned and endorses Mike Wood, the Conservative, which seems sense as Mike is a leaver and would have even left without a deal, according to his voting record.
