I can't help but think that the Brexiteer obsession with fishing rights stems from the humiliation of losing four cod wars to Iceland.

Interesting to see that the UK lost the first cod war after the US intervened to Iceland's advantage. Given this, Suez, and more recent events, that 'special' relationship is beginning to look a bit one-sided.
