Well, Rule Britannia is at least better that a song instructing a fictitious deity to save a hereditary monarch!  We might be looking for a new anthem if Scotland leaves the UK - or will we continue to sing the dreary durge about the fictitious deity and the hereditary monarch?? !!

I like Billy Connolly's suggestion the Archers , as for Scotland I hope they get their independence now that would be great day for me If you Happy and you know it clap your hands would be my choice

Because you are not supposed to be lifted out off the doldrums. Life is too serious for that.

Still...

I like the song. It stirs my soul and reminds me of the last night of the Proms traditions. Why is it necessary to kill off everything that might lift us out of the doldrums?

Ciaphas

It's a bit silly as these jingoistic songs tend to be but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

Streetwalker

The socialist wet dreamers  would  have us all singing the red flag and nothing else if they had their way . They wont of course get it and the likes of Ms Allen can jog on behind her hero Corbyn , probably this side of Christmas .

Churchill

The music will outlast her and all of us, music has no borders or boundaries

That's because nobody seems to be taking her very seriously, Pat. She can sing quite sweetly, best she sticks to that.

OK. So the woman and her father are roundly slagged off — but I see no arguments against her proposal...
On climate change — we're talking, we're beginning to act, but we're still not doing enough...

It's best not to give her any attention.  She is just a spoilt little girl with nothing to offer the world other than her obvious attention seeking odious and repugnant views.
