Listening and talking to motor sport enthusiasts, two giants appear to be Juan Manual Fangio and Stirling Moss. And they both competed in a range of competitions as well as F1, in cars without today's advanced driving and safety technologies...

Fangio won races several times in cars that were falling apart. Moss drove what were death traps.
A different breed of men.

No doubt a top GP driver but there really is little between the top guys and you have to be in the best car to achieve 'greatness'.  Hamilton like Schumacher has been lucky in that regard that their respective teams have dominated the sport for long periods

Hamilton now has 91 wins - and has also taken a giant step towards Schumacher's record total of seven world championships — in a Merc and at the Nurburgring.

With only six races remaining, a seventh world title, which would equal another Schumacher record, is beckoning.

Rather an achievement I feel, with times changing so fast, maybe he will be one of the last great racing drivers.
Just because I don't say anything, it doesn't mean I haven't noticed!
