Covid shows UK mobile networks are bad

Home ISP used to be on fibre and was first class. Then Mrs compared subscriptions, and saw our Virgin broadband was almost double EE and thought it was a good idea to migrate and add to the industry's churn. I let her have her way, but didn't realise EE broadband is run through BT's OpenBreach. Took ages to complete installation (of overhead copper phone cables!!!) and switch.
We're just waiting to end current contract and switch back...
On climate change — we're talking, we're beginning to act, but we're still not doing enough...

Where I live has always been a not spot for mobile reception. (The  are a few places where there is reception but that is not reliable.)
My internet  link is fibre optic within a few yards of my home, and I use an ethernet connection. This is generally reliable.

Anyone else noticed just how bad the UK mobile phone networks and internet links have become?

It's not been that noticeable before, but now social distancing means face to face interviews are no longer undertaken, radio news programmes repeatedly suffer drop outs and appalling audio quality.

I'm on EE, have been for years, but recently connections have been dropping. Could it be Covid increased traffic and overloaded networks...?
