So we're on one of the silliest threads ever on this forum, with some of the silliest ever replies (albeit largely humourous) and I still seem to provoke some people into turning themselves inside-out with rage. ;D

Well maybe so, but the thing is, SOMEONE is going to have to repay all that free furlough cash, and it looks to me like joe motorist is the usual target...
<t>In matters of taxation, Lord Clyde\'s summing up in the 1929 case Inland Revenue v Ayrshire Pullman Services is worth a glance.</t>

Why not just tax cyclists?

Not all cyclists, just the ones who do it to save the planet and don't seem to get much fun out of it anyway.
I was following a cyclist up a hill last week and said "That looks awfully taxing", so maybe they've been punished enough.

As for foreign vehicles arriving with emissions from their exhausts they'll be sent back, like the illegal immigrants.

What interests me is this. If there are no petrol cars on the road, how are tourists going to travel round the country after they roll off the ferry ???

Taxing stupid suggestions on internet forums would bring in much more money!

As far as high motoring costs are concerned . . .
The roads are full of cars that are considerably / more powerful / heavier / bulkier / use more fuel / have more driven wheels / than is necessary for everyday motoring. For owners of such cars who complain about the cost of motoring there's a simple answer . . . get a smaller and more economical car!

Just one thing they already are, it is called road tax. But don't let that bother you a tax on tax is always good if you are heavily invested in green Charlie.

Well you didn't think the chancellor was going to let everyone drive around for 5p per 40 miles did you ?

Oh so now I'm Keir Starmer and I called myself one, and you live in my headspace and are taking briefings from me.

You surely are a great psychatrist, tell me, how smart are you on a scale from 0 to Sarah Palin?
Why am I now your psychiatrist? why didn't you answer my previous questions?
Sarah Palin ain't here.

So how did you manage to work out that I had called you a slimy Bastard? then turn up with mind made up and decide it must be because you live in my headspace? when in actual fact you did it all by yourself.
