Agreed. I'm finding you're an agreeable fellow for a no-deal Brexiter.  :)

Thanks. If only you knew, I can be as crappy as anyone, but I am part of a benevolent dictatorship.  :hattip

We won't though, will we? We are too addicted to voting how we always have. Not to mention too frightened of letting in an even bigger enemy than remaining - Corbyn's hard left lot.

I commented elsewhere that Boris seems to be getting a free ride from sections of the media that are usually rabidly opposed to anything that isn't a hard Brexit.

The obvious consequence of that is that they now need to undermine The Brexit Party by painting them as the enemy of Brexit so they don't hoover up the hard brexit vote.

Not only is it remarkable how fickle Mr Johnson has been on Brexit but also that he seems to have largely gotten away with adopting a position he previously railed against.

However as evidenced by Streetwalkers contribution there are some individuals who aren't so easily manipulated.

Trouble is its the same old story at every election from the conservatives in attempt to silence the anti EU vote

2010 , Don't vote UKIP they are looneys ,fruitcakes and closet racists

2015 ,Don't vote UKIP and we will give you a referendum

2017  Vote Conservative we will leave with a good deal or a no deal

2019  Don't vote Brexit ,they will split the leave vote and let in Corbyn . The Conservatives will give you a WA that's the best deal on the table .

And we are still in the EU and will be under much of its control if we go with the Johnson deal even  signing up to a new EU treaty . Maybe its not obvious to people but we will never leave the EU without a leavers parliament .

A conservative government will be a long way from that and granted a labour government will be further away from it .

So as a leaver who gets my vote (ignoring the fact my  area is as Blue as you can get ) The Conservatives and a future of EU interference in UK politics or Brexit which maybe lets in Labour and a future of still being in the EU ?    There comes a time when you just have to go with your own beliefs and sod the consequences .

Vote Brexit for me .

We must both be sick of the shopworn aphorism 'Don't allow the perfect to be the enemy of the good'. Obviously that adage is often deployed to force people to compromise their core principles and to accept a watered-down middle course that's fundamentally a sellout. And I know Boris's withdrawal treaty is not ideal. I share your concern that in the negotiation of a free trade agreement EU potentates will try to screw the UK, in every possible arena, right up the bum. But they're scorpions. This is their nature. They'll be ruthless, even if we were to negotiate from outside the bloc and leave, as you prefer, with no deal.

Yet to my astonishment, you know full well that if you do as you're threatening and run Brexit party candidates in 'more than 600' constituencies, you could split the Leave vote and have that ghastly, regressive Gollum slurping 'My precious!' over the keys to No. 10, in which case we'll never leave the EU at all. You call Boris's deal 'not Brexit'? Put Labour and the SNP in government, and I'll show you 'not Brexit'. Both the agony of the past three-plus years and your quarter-century of dedication will have been for naught, and your confederates will never forgive you. This is the legacy you covet?

He showers Farage witb gross oozey admiration ...and then delivers the kicker...in the most damp squibby way possible.

It's kind of amusing to watch the beguilers get the knives out and simultaneously backstab, frontstab, arse kiss and cry and laugh about it all at once.
