More bad news for Gerry (where's he gone) https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-56026320

I don't like the sound of Micky Martin. He has too much common sense. I wonder what he wants other than not to make Leo Varadkar Taoiseach next year ?

No, you've got it wrong. We've been told all along that SI will thrive what ever happens with Brexit, they can easily sell their beef and other stuff to different market. This collateral damage thing must be wrong!!
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Blimey, I forgot about that.

The EU is for high tax and the UK and Republic are for paying sod all. No wonder Micky Martin has been telling all and sundry that the UK is Ireland's best mate.

Maybe we could set up a union between Ireland and the UK. The Irish, Scots and Welsh could do all the work and the English could sit on their arses. It would be just like the old days  :) :)

Quote Multinationals make Ireland's GDP growth 'clearly misleading'

Ex-Central Bank chief: In real world, Irish nowhere near top of EU wealth table.

Will Ireland's long winning streak on tax soon come to an end?
Our tax regime has withstood many attacks, but Brexit and Covid could change the game

QuoteAll this is not to say our winning streak is irreversible. The forces that see Ireland as taking an unfair share of the global tax cake are bigger than ever. And there are two new factors tilting the game against Ireland. First the UK, the staunchest defender of a more liberalised tax regime and one of the EU's big six, is exiting the EU stage and no longer has Ireland's back at the table. Second, EU states will likely push harder for tax reform to replenish public finances depleted by Covid-19.

I suspect thatthe real reason we can't export shellfish is because Pappy has eaten them all. Even now he is spending his ban sitting on his khazi and crapping through the eye of a needle.

Going a bit off topic, it could be that the economy is not in as bad a shape as expected. I read an article in the Torygraph (yeah, I know, but hard as it is to believe, it does not like Boris a lot) that said that we might be better off than expected. Apparently we take a more po faced attitude to GDP and in reality should be able to spend our way out of the expected recession.

It could be bollocks and at least when I was casting horoscopes I had the decency to admit that I was bullshitting, but you never know. Boris is lucky and that is the important thing in politics and economics.

Who knows borkie?

Im just enjoying gerry taking up the slack where smurf left off and giving us a bit of volte face on eu discussion laced with a large piece of utter bullshit .

All this good news might end up being a bit too much for gerry , what with bloomberg reporting 90 % of uk eu freight back to normal at dover , and everycant and thier mother getting vaccinated from the chinese sniffles in the uk , gerry is going to have to work even harder raking about in the durt for some bad news.

No legal barrier to UK-EU shellfish trade: UK environment minister

LONDON (Reuters) - There is no legal barrier stopping British businesses sending live shellfish to the European Union after the bloc said restrictions on some products would continue indefinitely, British Environment Minister George Eustice said on Tuesday.

"We wrote to the commissioner yesterday and we've been in dialogue with them," he told BBC radio. "The truth is there is no legal barrier to this trade continuing, both on animal health grounds and on public health grounds.

"There's legal provision within existing EU regulations to allow such trade to continue from the UK. We just are asking the EU to abide by their existing regulations and not to seek to change them."

QuoteBrexit effect: No custard creams for Brits in Europe

British supermarkets that have stores in Europe are facing supply problems because of post-Brexit rules on exports to the EU. It's affecting fresh produce at 20 Marks and Spencer stores in France, Morrison's in Gibraltar, and a chain of UK supermarkets in Belgium is on the verge of closure with no deliveries since December.

What are you here for Gerry, you clearly posted those links in reply that the problems were nothing to do with the eu,didn't read them properly an lo and behold. :P

Now back to the lies you imagined that people were never told we would be leaving the cu and single market......any answers?

Gerry is far too intelligent for the likes of us cromwell.

Everytime i read one of his posts i get this impression of some labour party remainer crybaby scratching about in the dirt looking for muck to throw at brexit while his rattle gets tossed hystrically out of his pram.

Brexit is only beginning and already it looks things are getting back to normal according to reports , thats despite the covid 19  , so imagine once we really get going , gerry will be having a feckin meltdown.

First off you brought up those countries and issues and made no point, nothing. I then show the unrest is covid related, which is true. So why dont you make the point you originally started but never finished. Like i said im not here to make your points for you.
Holland--a covid curfew sparked the riots, whats wrong with that ?? Did i say that was the only issue in holland ??
Did i say it was all about covid curfews ??

So whats your point, you brought this up ?
