Because, like Swine Flu and other viruses it has run its course. It's almost over.

Thanks for answering barry.

I didnt really expect quackers to answer though ......as i always say , he merely wants a platform to pontificate from without any form of dissent to his narrative , never mind actual debate.

Typical lib dem .

So what has happened in the other 186 countries which are responsible for a mere 25 % of vaccinations between them? Why has the virus rate fallen  if not through vaccination in the majority of countries?

Lack of fear is partly why we're where we are now. All along too many people have seen covid-19 as:

A) Something that is happening somewhere else.
B) Not as bad as the media make out.
C) If I get it, I get it, I can't go round worrying about it.
D) I agree with the rules and all that but I do need to buy some biscuits to take to my friend.

Yes, the government is partly to blame but the people are also to blame for (collectively) not taking the covid threat seriously enough right from when it first appeared. And that's not just in UK, it's the same in most other countries.

Now, though, for the first time since the start of the pandemic, the number of world-wide daily cases is in a sustained and steep decline. That's a sign of hope but not something to be complacent about.

As well as talking to yourself online on these forums quack , why do you always go around resuurecting old threads as well ?

As to your points , no lack of fear isnt why we are where we are just now.

People are always looking for someone or something to blame. This is what you are doing here, you just cant contemplate a virus  will always spread naturally.

There is no immortality pill , quack , and while none of us want to rush our departure from this mortal coil , death is part of life wether any of us like it or not.

to your final point...

Nearly 200 countires in the world , and as far as im aware , only 10 of the richer countires are actually responsible for 75% of global vaccinations.

Since a nursing home in the nearest town had a major Covid-19 incident a few days ago, (People living nearby didn't realise there were that many ambulances in Cornwall.) The pedestrian and vehicular traffic past my home has reduced to near zero, except for a few dog walkers and delivery vans.
Well let's hope for your sake then Smurfy, they don't realise there is no cure and decide they don't care if they live or die. That really would be the end of your curtain twitching.
Just because I don't say anything, it doesn't mean I haven't noticed!
