It's to help increase global warming. Which they obviously care nothing about.

Which is why buying British makes sense.

Try as we do though to support our own industries I was left shaking my head last night when in the process of making a fish pie

'This pack contains Haddock and Cod from the North Atlantic  from sustainable fisheries '   Well OK it might have come from Norway or even god forbid some downtrodden EU state but the last thing I was expecting on reading the small print on brushing away the ice was .

'Packed in China '

How the feck does fish caught in the North Atlantic end up doing laps of the globe before ending up on my dinner plate ?
Globalisation innit, world has gone mad where we are lectured for destroying the planet and some of the same people berate us for leaving the eu because we are stopping goods doing several laps of the continent before returning here.

There are large areas of farmland lying idle because of old eu subsidies, more madness as we are set to continue them.
Energy....secure and affordable, not that hard is it?

From its inception, in 1918, up to 1923 the Liberals held sway. Moray, then, followed the rest of the UK in turning away from the Liberals.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moray_and_Nairn_(UK_Parliament_constituency).
In the 19th century after the 1867 Reform Act the constituency swung between Cons & Libs  with the latter holding sway in 33 years to the former's 17 years.
Elgin was part of the Elgin Burghs constituency which returned Whig then Liberal MPs from 1832-1918 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elgin_Burghs_(UK_Parliament_constituency)#Elections_in_the_1830s
Forres and Nairn were part of the Inverness Burghs Constituency, a Liberal stronghold https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverness_Burghs_(UK_Parliament_constituency)#Elections_in_the_1830s
So, without the 3 main towns, the Liberals dominated in rural Elginshire & Nairnshire. Had they been included, the Tories might never have challenged at all
Here endeth the history lesson  :) ;)

I was laughing my head off the other day, this guy was on the BBC saying, we don't want to export around the globe, we want to export to the EU closer and cheaper, tell that to the Chinese I thought you thick tw*t.
Just because I don't say anything, it doesn't mean I haven't noticed!

And then Moray returned to its true loyalty. :) :)

But what about freedom and it being just over the horizon? don't you want people to feel free and battery operated?

I am afraid where I live battery operated vehicles are just not practical and far too expensive.
I have already mentioned the prohibitive cost of installing a charging point in my garage.
I would need to lay 240V 32amp supply underground, (local regulations.) from the mains box in the house some 80 feet to the garage. A very expensive exercise, plus the cost of the charging point in the garage.

I'm 100% for buying British whenever possible. I'm also in favour of rebuilding manufacturing in this country, taking back work from China and other far east countries. Yes, import items we cannot produce, whilst importing what we cannot.
We really need to bring back white goods and electronic manufacturing to this country.
Especially computing and TVs.

I am highly unlikely to ever own a battery operated car as fitting a charging point in my garage would cost more than my wife paid for her current car.

Well battery operated step through then. Even better the people's choice.

You will be fine them Smurphy, once the battery-operated Trabant gets rolled out.
You can wave your vaccination card around and freedom will be just over the horizon.

I don't own a car.

The Lithium battery factory is already planned to be built in Northumberland.
