I always ride in the cycle lane, or gutter as it is know. I may have the right of way, but most motorists are driving a ton or more metal so I am happy to concede the point.

And you'll never hear my EV until you go under its wheels

I just saw this - https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9876537/Jeremy-Vine-s-cycling-video-sparks-angry-reaction.html

Jeremy Vine, a keen cyclist I believe, seems to think that this is the way forward. Now perhaps in his world everyone should cycle, but there are some drivers here whose reaction to this might be interesting... I do worry for cyclists on the roads near me because the place where they normally ride is lethal. I even avoid getting my car tyres in the potholes and ridges found there, so I feel that they should take a more central position within the road lane for their own safety so passing involves a wider berth than ever, but 4 abreast as the norm?

Oh dear, Jeremy Vine doesn't seem to know much. The best car drivers are motorcyclists and that's because, like T00ts they are more aware of road surfaces and how they behave.
Cyclists are also very aware of surfaces and need to take up a command position in the road, despite the unlawful harassment from some motorists. Sometimes we have to wait 10 seconds - which is better than maiming or killing someone and going to prison.

Sheepy

I cannot be bothered listening to Jeremy Vine at the best of times. If he comes on the radio. I just switch channels and think well Steve Wright will be on later. At least we will be able to laugh at ourselves.
Just because I don't say anything, it doesn't mean I haven't noticed!

Where I live I would not ride a bicycle for a bet.  The local drivers are bad, add the tourists bad drivers to that and it is very dangerous.
