The way any thread I start gets wrecked I would welcome that.

T00ts, would it be good if the topic starter had the ability to close their own threads?

Not when someone's 'truth' hurts others.

If that were the case, then we just as well give ISIS or Stormfront equal billing

You should never apologize for speaking the truth

On second thoughts I can imagine all sorts of problems arising when the OP doesn't like either the arguments against their initial thoughts or a disliked poster takes over. There would have to be a Moderator input for fairness I think.

Probably.

I seem to have opened an unintended can of worms by giving in to a moment of frustration. My feelings were better kept to myself rather than create a thread where anyone is made to feel inferior. My apologies to everyone - I have learned a lesson yet again.
Perhaps now would be the moment to close it.

Barry

There's no shortage of new topics in the database. Anyone can start one anytime.
If you are posting in a topic headed, "Carrie runs the government" and find your self posting about too much litter in the streets, you are pretty surely off topic.
It's easy to check what the topic title is about before posting. Unless it's one of Sheepy's which might need you to actually read the first post. Even then you might be none the wiser.

That was the kind way  :D :D :D

when even toots is getting frustrated by the said individual you know we are close to ban time.

You me and most of us have made our feelings known time and again about him , and as i said i completely get he gives the forum sometimes much needed activity , but the flip side of the coin is his incessant off topic trolling and spamming of threads with three word posts.

The question is does the cons outweigh the pros? I would say aye , without a doubt.

Still here we are. I wonder which mods patience will snap first?
