Two guys fae Glesga , Archie and jimmy, are sitting in the pub

discussing Jimmys upcoming wedding.

"It's all going like magic," says Jimmy. "I've got everything

organised already - the flowers, the church, the cars, the rings."

Archie nods approvingly.

"Man, I've even bought a kilt to be married in!" continues Jimmy.

"A kilt?" exclaims Archie. "That's grand.. And what's the tartan?"

"Och," says Jimmy. "I imagine she'll be in white."

And I look just as stupid in a kilt. But as the Court Etiquette rules state categorically, any British Subject may at THEIR choice opt to wear the tartan in place of formal morning attire, or the evening tartan in place of formal evening wear. I have warned my daughter any attempt to get me in a penguin suit for her wedding, and I bring bagpipes and WILL play them

What have I  missed?

There are probably others where it is considered Cultural Appropriation for anyone not of that culture to adopt any other style or manner. So how does that fit with some lightening their skin and dying their hair blonde? With so much interracial marriage etc who is to tell what 'blood' we all have. I am Viking, Spanish, Welsh, French and English and goodness knows what else. Who is to to tell what I can and can't adopt as my 'look'?

At an American University a couple of white American students were recently cast out of a cultural centre for study because 'Whites don't have a culture'! Goodness me!

Unless using accents, physical characteristics or negative racial stereotypes are used to belittle, bully, or stir up hatred I don't see much wrong in instances of Cultural Appropriation — acting is acting, clan identity (even for followers not of the clan) is OK in sport, using cosmetic alteration and absorbing fashion from elsewhere, are not intrinsically negative. 

Personally, I find Cultural "Appreciation" and/or "Adoption" makes life more enjoyable — particularly in areas like music and the arts, fashion, food and sport...

If you're a woman and a member of a gym, knowing their are men who identify as women and are entitled to use the female changing rooms, does this count as harm knowing they could walk in any moment? Where is the same space? We all know there are blokes that would use this in nefarious ways.

Well personally I object to a lot of country types in places like Oxfordshire Wearing cloth caps,that's not their culture and belongs to the working man.

Toffs should stick to top hats
