I couldn't agree more. Well about the allotments. There is something ... visceral ... about physical labour and the enjoyment of what it brings. And if your allotment is anything like my garden, turn your back for five minutes and the weeds are rampant. You can keep the piles though

"green skills gap ??" What skills do you need to drink the KOOL aid and sherpuly follow the bullshit.

Haemorrhoids.

If we really want to make for a greener Britain then I suggest that the government buy up chunks of the farmland that we don't need and turn them into allotments. It would pay for itself by cutting the NHS bill for tranquillisers. My allotment site is full of folk who were previously tanked up on anti depressants but who are now happily digging up weeds and talking no end of bollocks. They are still nutters but happy with it and in no need of medication.

Unfortunately, the first requirement of an eco warrior is to be a really miserable looking sod. So I suggest that anyone going into the Climate Change business be first given a course on how to develop piles, which would make them look suitably concerned

And there was me thinking we need more lorry drivers, farm workers, and medical staff. Silly me.
