Well everybody has the right to protest but when I watched this and the self righteous ******** blocking an ambulance if someone suffered the whole lot should be charged with ABH if someone dies Murder.
They've made their point and should sod off and leave people to go about their business.

Why didn't they handcuff them one by one to the railings, wait for the meat waggon and take them all in so a stretch in jail?
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Whatever the virtues of their cause may or may not be, protesting in a way that alienates the general public is surely counterproductive, isn't it? You don't need to have a degree in human psychology to be able to figure that out.

And as for the more violent and vandalistic actions of the suffragettes in past years, they too probably alienated more people than they won over. What transformed the situation in favour of the enfranchisement of women was the crucial role they played in industry and agriculture in WW1. In short, what best advanced their cause was acting in a way that garnered the respect of most people rather than alienating them.
We are not all in the same boat. We are in the same storm. Some of us have yachts. Some of us have canoes. Some of us are drowning.

I was reading a news piece the other day about some woman iirc who was the sister of Pankhurst and they're raising money to erect a statue of her.
Votes for women yes certainly and a good thing too but how will insulate Britain and others be seen a hundred years hence, a statue to this woman perhaps?

Streetwalker

These people are nutters  and should be locked up not given airtime

If they are right though  we wont need to put the heating on nor need  insulation  so everyone will be a winner

Dunno about Insulate Britain, which appears to be more a theatrical troupe than a political movement, but Emmeline Pankhurst seemed to be a lively lass who ended up on the right wing of the Conservative party as a taller version of Priti Patel. So hopefully she will be remembered in years to come.
