I am a born Tory even when I was in the Communist party, but unless the Conservatives start acting like a government I will sit the next election out.
Come on borkie , let the loonie lefties and liberals have their moment in the sun. You have to give them some hope , otherwise politics would be a dull affair .

I see alistair campbell , the hero of new labour , is trolling johnson on twitter .

its a mid term blip , nothing more , and i fully expect normal service to resume promptly.

I will be in shock if keir starmer ever wins an  election never mind becomes pm.

starmer ended up leader because of corbyn.
And the village idiot will probably take over from Starmer because the Labour party wants someone with brains.

LOL the great reset has no call for individualism from people or countries I didn't make that up either they said it somewhere all central control my Scots mate.
scotland england and britain no more. All one big europe under brussells and washington , fed on a diet of feelgood liberalism , black lives matter and utter wokery. Dynamis and quack quack will be in their element.

Wonder what the new national anthem will be ?

We'll have to differ on that one.
ok . Im not sure scotland would have voted for david milliband if he were in charge for the 2015 GE , nor do i think , according to former labour party members like steve , that the english left would have endorsed him.

On top of that , cameron undercutting such a pro european globalist like david milliband with the offer of an EU referendum would have had similar results electorally as it did his brother. So apart from your personal abhorrence of the left under momentum and corbyn in england , and the thought of them taking power , im still unaware how david millband would have done much politically with the burnt out remains of a party that had been in power for thriteen years , and slithered its way through problem after problem till the public had had enough of them....

Yes I saw that one and on the news at 1pm there was mention of others who have broken use of offices in Westminster rules apparently because they didn't know. It's a mess.
fully agree. Im not sure the sleaze allegations alone are that much of a problem , but added to all the other woes ,and the tories are seriously starting to cumble.

I dont agree in the slightest. We need parties with a clear difference in policy , not two cheeks of the same backside with a fag paper between them.

The blairites killed the labour party , corbyn in 2017 took them as close as they have been in years , and one of the highest labour vote shares in history beaten only once and that was by blair himself in 1997.

Long debated on here and elsewhere , it was jim murphy , an out and out right wing blairite who took labour to their worst electoral defeat in modern scottish politics as it was back in 2015 before corbyn came anywhere near power.

I think david milliband and the what ifs reagarding his enthronement as labour leader has long been discussed  , and the verdict among most is he wouldnt have made much difference to labours fortunes.

Corbyn was a result of new labours failure , and the left demanding their party back from the small c tories who had taken over them. If people think david milliband , or some other reincarnation of new labour is what the uk wants and needs , then they sadly dont understand the issues at stake today. Thats not a personal dig , but a general comment .
We'll have to differ on that one.

I guess the Conservatives should consider who they can talk down too, only a few weeks ago they were riding high, not that I care less about polls anyway, but others do. Who is laughing now? out with it.
certainly not the tories sheepwash.

Are you ready for the schengen and the euro my fellow european friend?:D

come to think of it , you must feel hastings already is in schengen the way johnson and patel are ignoring the free movement of people onto hastings beach.

Dynamis must have a tear in his eye at the thought of all those people being welcomed into blighty by johnson.

I'm not so sure. Ed was more leftwing than his brother and did that stupid £3 membership fee thing. If David had gone in we might have a better opposition now. Corbyn killed the Labour party but Ed throttled it first.

i dont. I think the David milliband wrong brother myth keeps popping up from time to time , but its no more true now than when it was first spoken.

What would david milliband have done different to his brother ed?

He was tainted with new labour  , and the public had had enough of new labour in the final years of blairs reign never mind 2010. The writing was on the wall , and the mythical hero of david milliband would not have saved the party , or got them elected in 2015.
