Gerry's friends do seem to be a bit cack handed.

First of all the Dutch government levied a 15% dividend tax on Shell. And when the company protested MPs pushed for an exit tax should they leave. Then ABP, the state pension fund, said that Shell was horrid and polluting well everything. And they stopped holding Shell shares.

So now Holland is about to lose a company worth about a quarter of the country's GDP

Negotiating skill wise, the Dutch government could have done better.
When learning Dutch dances we were told to be very flat footed. It seems it's still relevant! Dancing

A 2012 loan, with interest charged. Should the EU only do things that benefit the UK, is that why your so upset ?

This was not as you suggested the EU "giving" a wedge to ford to get them to invest in the EU. This happened when the UK was a EU member. The loan was to a non EU country. Come on Nick, stop before you embarrass yourself.
Any proof the 'LOAN' was ever repaid in full?
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

No doubting Shell's plans, provided shareholders approve the plan. Maybe this is the golden nugget Johnson has been looking for, the example of a company picking the UK over EU, all I'm asking is how did Shell come to that decision, what was it that "won" it for the UK.
I knew you would be absolutely ragin about this story gerry.:D

i see unemployment in the uk has fallen as well.

Stand by for incoming snot bubbles !!!

Shell's Dutch departure is a vote of confidence in Brexit Britain

The City was meant to be hollowed out. Shortages would cripple the economy. And major multinationals would move their headquarters, listings, and all the wealth those create, to somewhere safely inside the EU's Single Market.

Some hardcore supporters of the UK remaining inside the EU made lots of predictions about the consequences of the decision to leave. And yet, one by one, they have failed to materialise. Now, oil giant Shell has said it will move its tax residency to London, a decision that could mean it ditches the 'Royal Dutch' from its name.

When i can be arsed , and have the time , i "might" pick out anything of relevance that is worth bothering to reply to.

For your own sanity , i suggest moving on with your life gerry.

And that's the story you're peddling.

on yer bike :P
NO, Shell might have looked at the UK and decided it's better for business to be in the UK post brexit. If so we have a Brexit success story, should be easy enough to show thats why. Anyway with a shareholder vote coming up to approve the move, I'm sure this will get a lot more headlines.
There has to be some good news stories, so fingers crossed this is one, possibly the first !

Just like the wedge the EU gave ford to move its van production!!
Or are we supposed to have forgotten about that?
No Nick, educate us, what was it the EU did, how did the EU give Ford money.

Pop over to that thread and you'll see, Nick is educating me, he's about to give lots of detail to the questions put to him.  It should produce tax income, no jobs though. But then you'll prob find out that Johnson is giving them a big wedge to make the move, he does need a good news story.
