A narrative is taking shape that this would fuel. I cannot say how the Tories can now change the narrative  or distance themselves from it without ditching their leader. They themselves surely know it and have always been ruthless in such matters. Bozo's days are numbered. 2022 will see a different Tory leader. I will be surprised if I have to eat those words.

I would like to meet the men who refuse to go to the school play, concert or whatever.

A lady where I live  took her children on holiday during term time recently, when she got back the school was shut due to most of the children having Covid. (Her children have not.)

I can sympathise but surely if you are exempt it shouldn't apply to you. I have heard a lot of schools have cancelled plays, concerts etc. altogether even though the Government is saying that they should go ahead,  so at least your little ones have the chance to perform. Couldn't you stretch a point for them? I have seen the look on kids' faces when people they expected in the audience haven't shown up. I even had one little girl refuse to go on stage because her Dad didn't show. It took all my persuasion to get her on there and she spent the whole time searching.

If you can convince me of the point of taking an LF test to prove you don't have it, then sitting with a face covering on, or getting disapproving looks from others with muzzles on, I'll go.

Well - the first is really easy and done presumably in the privacy of your own home - and anyway you could have it and not realise.   Then you could get around the rest by wearing a Christmas hat with 'I'M EXEMPT' written on it and instead of scowling they would all laugh with you. I cannot be more sincere than to say it will be worth just putting your feelings aside for their sakes.

I was going to a nativity play next week. I was requested to do a LF test before going and to sit in family groups to prevent mixing. Then yesterday there was another email requesting we wear face coverings.
That was the last straw, so no nativity play this year. Same as last year.

Our family Christmas party will be going ahead the same as it did last year. The government does not get to say who we can have in our houses. An Englishman's house is his castle.

Why? Is no one else allowed to have a party?

Of course they are if they take sensible precautions,  vaccination certificates and a negative Covid test within 36 hours of arrival at the party.
