I have just realised that, gardening wise, I am going to have to start working

Everything is starting to grow. Yesterday me and Mrs had to get off our backsides and clear the front. The pots were overgrown and the block paving was almost invisible. It only took about an hour, but we felt really self righteous after, so worth it.

I am with you there.

The problem is that a month or two ago everything stayed clear because winter was on its way. Now Spring is just around the corner and as soon as I sit down for an undeserved rest, everything starts growing again. Or maybe not growing, but you can see that the bloody stuff is thinking about it.

This catches me every year. Come November I mooch around, do a bit of light pruning, turn the compost heaps and start bonfires to brew pots of coffee that are more wood ash and rat crap than anything else, but still tastes great, especially if there is a decent frost and think well, sod it, I can't do much because winter is on the way. 
So I don't and feel good.
But it is now January. It will be spring in two months. I have to prepared the barrels and compost bins for the spuds, clear the beds for the other roots, repair the trellising for the fruit and generally run around like a blue bummed fly.
