God that was funny but I shouldn't laugh. Convoy of highway repair trucks have parked up on what used to be M4 j25 entry slip westbound before the bypass and shit

They've utterly buggered pedestrian access to cross the slip road. I'm on the roundabout and want to exit, the left lane is full of parked maintenance trucks and coned off. Six blokes in yellow hi Vis are looking towards me, wearing concerned looks.

I stop and wonder what gives. Head hi Vis chap visibly relaxes and let's woman with dachshund on lead cross the single line that's left.

Except she now has to walk out behind the first parked truck and run like hell about fifty yards or more past the parked trucks, along the live lane I've stopped in, to run to the pavement on the roundabout.

I'm not sure parking trucks like that blocking the pedestrian access is terribly clever or legal.

But what made my day was that poor dog being made to run down that road on that lead, it's little legs going like pistons !!

If you're on foot and in st Julian's and need to cross the M4 take the east side of the roundabout not the west and if you've got kids coming home from school, bear in mind they may have to run the gauntlet of live traffic in the only open lane on the sliproad over the river westbound...
