I want reparations from the Italians for the Roman invasion, and from the Norwegians and Danes for pillaging this country, and lets not forget the Barbary pirates who kidnapped thousands of English men women and children, should the government not seek reparations from Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia? Yes I know popular myth says you can only be accused of profiting from slavery if you're white and English. Trust me, it's bollox. For thousands of years the biggest slavers on this planet were from Africa, the Middle East and Asia, and that remains the case today. But for fek sake don't mention it to a clueless outraged lefty, faced with facts they tend to go into apoplectic shock. It's a bit like anaphylactic shock, just more left wing.

I am surprised that Sunak fell it. He always struck me as a pretty smart lad and must know that no one in the UK has much time for the Climate Change industry. If he had stayed in the UK, told the guys in Egypt to send him an email with details of what advantages all this Greta Glumberg hysteria had for the uk then it would have done his popularity no end of good. But he didn't and it ain't.

Surely you realise that even if Sunak had not diverted a millimetre from his daily schedule during COP, but signalled he was prepared to receive conference data on climate change, he would have received a similar amount of opprobrium...

My other thought is who would be the receivers of such funds ?  There are not many even third world countries who have not benefitted from industialization ,are they throwing into the pot as well ?
