I think it is going to  cost us about £600 extra each year, or £50 a month. However, as we are speaking personally, we just sunk all our capital into a new gaffe and that frees up £1400 a month we were paying in rent. Not to mention the £100 a month less in council tax.
Swings and roundabouts, Borkie, we feel quite well off!

True enough Barry. The grandson is off to Uni so that is chunk of school fees saved and, well, that is a chunk of school fees saved.

I have done drugs and I have done drink, but nothing is as expensive as family. :):)

Sheepy

No worries Borchester, those who don't have to worry about it personally tell us times are hard but wouldn't know hard if it bit them and will never admit their part in it.
Just because I don't say anything, it doesn't mean I haven't noticed!

I don't think it has hit yet. I have seen lots of potential price rises but some of us have been here, or near it, before and I guess I will rattle my memory and see what cost cutting actions I can revive. I sort of think that the Summer might be manageable but next Autumn Rishi really might have to do something. That's if he is still in post, since his popularity vote has sunk through the floor. Boris, if he is still in post, might be only too keen to rid himself of a stalker.

Well it hasn't hit yet as Europe still buy Russian gas. When that is stopped either by sanctions, being cut off or whatever, we then all compete within a smaller market for a more expensive form called liquid gas  Then it will start to eat away within our reserve and eventually we will have to ration because big gas suppliers such as Qatar have already spelt out to us that they will not be able to keep up with our demand. But to answer your question @Borchester for when we should worry, the answer is not until reserve supplies run out. And I suspect that is not any time soon given we still buy Russian gas. When we stop doing that we might have a few months before rationing but it will happen. And I suspect business will have priority over homes. So jumpers for Christmas anyone?

I suppose I ought to worry, but the media is doing such a first class job for me that I can't really see much point in bothering.

How about you guys?
