Other people on other forums have commented on how the cameraman just happened to be pointing his already recording phone at just the right spot at just the right time. No wild arcs across the sky following a tail of light or a scramble after the event to record the aftermath. Just a very lucky point into a piece of empty night sky at the very moment that something unexpected happened.

On top of that of course, who would have dreamed that the unfortunate plane would be a Ukranian one. What a weird coincidence given the prominent place of Ukraine in the Trump impeachment process, especially given all the other planes that flew in and out of Tehran that night unscathed!

Well what are you saying it's a coincidence they've admitted shooting it down?
Energy....secure and affordable, not that hard is it?

Point taken, SPV, the cameraman must have been either tipped off, or, more likely a member of the security services. Unless he was making a video of barking dogs in the early hours to make a complaint to Teheran town council. It also begs the question of whether it was accidental at all.

Maybe it was deliberate.

Obviously, we can't have people undermining the religious nut's lies, can we?

Well this Iranian lying government needs to pay up about $48 million for the aircraft and about $2 million per person's life in compensation.

Call it 400 million dollars.

What the west needs to learn from this is that Iran will lie and lie and lie,

Every government lies.

Now Iran finally admit that they shot down the aircraft.

What the west needs to learn from this is that Iran will lie and lie and lie, until they can no longer get away with it. Which is how they duped Obama into lifting sanctions whilst they limited their nuclear programme. Trump saw through it.

Iranian government = LIARS!

I struggle to see the motive behind a deliberate shoot down (by Iran). What possible benefit does it bring to them?

I interpreted Tradeau's "possibly" as trying to give Iran space to admit they did shoot the plane down.

If you are trying to get someone to admit they did something then indicating you are open to the possibility of accident etc helps.

"I think you accidently scratch my car as you got your bike out of the shed" vs "admit you vandalised my car!"

Barry

The Iranians appear to be lying about flight PS752. Trudeau has pretty much accused them of shooting down the plane "possibly in error".

"Possibly"??

If not, is he suggesting they deliberately shot down a civilian passenger airliner? I can believe it was an expensive error being in a heightened state of alert after firing their missiles into Iraq.

Suggesting movement of cash? from Russia to USA and from Saudi to USA after the killing of Suleimani.

The Boeing 737 8K was only 3 years old and had an exceptionally well trained crew.

The Iranian authorities are reported to be refusing to hand over the flight recorder to Boeing.

There was no reason for this aircraft to stop sending any data when it was approaching 8000 feet at 300 mph.

I strongly suspect foul play:

Rolling on from the Iranian revolution thread, Trump's authorisation of the assassination of Suleimani, who most people had not heard of previously, has  certainly ramped up the stakes in the Middle East.

This morning a Ukraine Airlines aircraft mysteriously caught fire and crashed just after take off from Teheran airport killing all the crew and passengers.

The Ukrainians have decided to suspend all flights to Teheran. If it was a plane fault, it would be more logical to be liaising with Boeing, possibly checking the fleet.

According to other reports other airlines are rerouting to avoid overflying Iran/Iraq in fear of missile attacks.

The Iranians overtly attacked the USA base in Iran this morning and Trump responded by saying all was OK, (no loss of life?), and then said he will make a statement tomorrow.

Who is going to mediate to prevent a war - the UN?  :fpigs:
