Like most true Brits, I've always fancied having a go at finishing the job my ancestors started and driving the French SO far into the south east corner of France the sheer crush of the bodies pushes them into the Med to drown....

But perusing the jolly pages of the BBC gives me hope I will live to see something even better. Thatcherism implemented by the cult of Greta.

Back in the days when the wrong choice by Harold Wilson would have seen a prolonging of the Vietnam war so extensive that Cromwell, Borchester and I would all have been handed an assault rifle on our 16th birthday and sent to enjoy some tropical travel, every sovereign state on the planet considered steel a resource so vital to national security any attempt to impede it's production would get you shot, or hung.

And Britain, and in particular Merthyr, Blaenafon and the South Wales valleys were the crucible in which this technology was nurtured. We had the brains up at Blaenafon, the best raw materials in the world in the coal seams and iron ore lodes of the Welsh valleys, and we set about putting them together in a way that no one could beat. Even today the last remaining remnants turn out a product coveted by others.

But the rot set in when Thatcher decreed the future of Britain lay in the service sector, call centres and retail, and destroyed our heavy industry and it's technological advances to use the money it cost to fund her stockbroker and financier fraudsters.

Which is why today nobody can get steel of the quality that used to come out of Llanwern and Port Talbot to name but two.

It brightened my day no end, then, to see the Green twatheads of the French Political elite decree that the day of investment in French steel making is over, and the future lies in zero carbon and the service industries.

Go on, read the article I link to. Revel in those very words being utter d by some greenwashed turd about two thirds of the way down.

You stupid, stupid bastards.

The only hope for you now is to take the arsehole who preaches this, and burn him in the nearest combined heat and power biomass furnace.

Alive.

And then ask who shares his views on the future direction of France.

And ensure they follow down the same biomass input chute.

If they do not, I will live to see France become a nation of call centre operatives just as Britain has.

And even though my paternal ancestry hails from the North Men who wandered in to France for a little jollity and stayed there until we sailed to Hastings as military consultants to William of Normandy, I shall raise a glass of ale and chuckle that Greta has finished off what Wellington started.

My god, there must be some Viking DNA in her after all
