Sometimes Tommy, I wonder if the media can be entirely trusted.

Of course the media cant be trusted borkie.



You are asking me a heavily loaded question as though im a supporter of the uk media.



Me? A scottish independence supporter , where 99% of the newspapers , radio , tv , are all against scotlands independence , and we have a handfull of online blogs and sites that support it.



The media are a tool , nothing more , that can sometimes be usefull when referencing something.



I sometimes wonder though borkie if personal anecdotes can be trusted. We all know that in your city , where the organs of the brit state are based , there will be those that doff their caps in respect at saint maggie as she was laid to rest , despite london being full of champagne socialists.



However we also know she was a divisive figure , hated by many in northern england , wales , scotland and ireland , loved by many in southern england.



Whats undeniable is wether or not the media or personal anecdotes can be trusted ,the wolfetones are top of the charts . :thup:

The german and israeli governments getting together to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the waffen SS?



Im 99% convinced this sort of thing is done purely as a wind up to elicit an angry response , otherwise i think you might be right borkie , and that those in government  the world over are indeed absolute muppets  unfit to wield the levers of power.

When Thatcher died a friend of mine went down to the Strand to do whatever a socialist should do at the funeral of hated class enemies. However, when she got there she noticed that her revolutionary colleagues were few and far between and that the wicked witches supporters were many and that overall  barracking the loathed departed might not be one of her better ideas. So when the hearse drove by she had a rare outbreak of common sense and lowered her head like everyone else.



The next day she was busy hawking copies of the Socialist Worker that carried stories about the funeral cortege being halted by the massed ranks of the proletariat whose attempts to throw Mrs T's corpse into the Thames.

It comes after plans to commemorate the controversial Royal Irish Constabulary (RIC) were shelved by the Irish government.
