I am nominally a Christian,I believe I'm just a pile of atoms ⚛️ that will one day cease to exist.
I know I am mortal and will cease to exist like everything else.  This actually brings me comfort from the certainty.  However, the ego is still nowhere to be found.  It's merely thought that our minds have created and fixated on that is beyond mere instinct.  Perhaps that is where it originated.

Yes ,  but what after that ?
Don't worry him - we will see him later and can explain it to him then.  :D

Christians generally see themselves as separate from their God, like we see ourselves as separate to each other.  A Buddhist may see this as an illusion of self driven by the ego, where everything is really a whole.  After all, I shows itself within thoughts and inbetween other thoughts.  I may believe I am separate, and whilst I am in this thought I cannot process anything else, so where does I exist?

Perhaps those who have struggled are in a better position to embrace this perspective.

I was once at an all faith meeting when a chap got up and started rattling on in an increasingly smug and offensive manner, about the superiority of Zen Buddhism. I like to think we put up with it pretty well, although at one stage it looked as though the vicar's girl friend was going to clock him. But finally a lady stood up and said please excuse James, he has just come out of rehab.

I don't know what it is about smackheads and Zen Buddhism, but they seem strangely attracted to each other.

Playing jokes like Alzheimer's, cancer, motor neurone disease, etc, shows The Almighty has a wicked sense of humour...
Indeed. Stephen Fry had a bit to say on that and frankly, I like his point of view.

Or anyone else for that matter?

Well no but I'm afraid if I were in an enclosed space unable to escape were it Christians happy clapping,Muslims droning on about some verse out of the Koran or bloody half wits singing agadoo as they made the holiday trip I might just tell them all to shut up!

An interesting piece from the actual article

"Omar, who is Muslim, retweeted the clip saying: 'I think my family and I should have a prayer session next time I am on a plane. How do you think it will end?'"

Given what usually happens on planes right after some islamist starts the allah u akbar shite...

I reckon wrapping a seat belt extension round the bastard's neck dragging his head to the toilet bowl and engaging the vacuum flush mechanism is what I would do for starters

I am unable to answer that honestly without causing hurt and offence, so I shall leave this conversation...
Goodbye, you've already done your bit to be offensive, we don't need you to do your utmost.

Why would anyone imagine that the passage through life would be all sweetness and light. Without sorrow would we recognise joy? Without evil would we recognise good? As an aside I read just the other day that the technology of the Covid 19 vaccinations looks as though it could be the breakthrough for Cancer treatments. How would we have developed so many answers to problems if they simply didn't exist?  What is life for if it is not to learn?

Maybe, to people who have little idea of the nature of God.

Well both involved sitting about and breathing in and out so I guess it works for anyone without much else to do .

Well as long as it didnt last the whole flight I guess a few numbers wont harm anyone . The mussa needs to wind her neck in

Reminds me of an away trip to Newcastle a few years back ,a few of the lads decided to fly up and get on the beer on the Friday night . We met up with a few other Palace fans in the airport bar and it ended up with about 20 of us on the same flight .
Of course as we got  going a chorus of Glad all over breaks out with a few suits giving us the look that says shut up you idiots . So being the sort of guys we are we pipe down and order a beer from the trolly dolly on the promise she wont here from us again .
No sooner had things settled down than what could only have been 3/4 of the passengers broke out in a rendition of Fields of Athenry , the London Irish RU boys had been keeping quite but unlike us knew to keep incognoito  until after they had loaded up with beer . The plane was rocking by the time we landed at Newcastle an hour later
