Meaning you don't care about the queen?
I know this was not addressed to me, but I too do not feel unhappy. I am actually having a good week because I am enjoying a week off, albeit mostly by avoiding the utterly over the top TV and radio.

The death of anyone is of course a sad thing, but I never knew the queen personally so did not feel it deeply and thus am largely unmoved by it, just getting on with my life feeling my normal moods.

I think people like me are the more emotionally rational ones here.
We are not all in the same boat. We are in the same storm. Some of us have yachts. Some of us have canoes. Some of us are drowning.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Sounds good.

The Queen's death has hit folk harder than expected. We need cheering up.
I am cheerful.

Far too lenient. What about the drawing and quartering?

As I've said many times to DeppityDawg, Corbyn should be hanged as traitor to the cause.

Must admit that when I came back to London as a teenager, the local Baptists had the best social events with the most friendly sisters. And when the "real business" cut in, I found Gospel Music far more enjoyable than Politics.

Returning to Corbyn, I see he's now against the West's supply of weapons to Ukraine. Does he still really believe all this stuff he spouts?

Or has he turned into an "I'll-say-and-do-whatever-gets-me-the-most-notoriety" ageing irritant...?

I think he started out as a "I'll-say-and-do-whatever-gets-me-the-most-notoriety" irritant.

He is the only person I know who ever left the North London Poly without a degree. It is impossible. I was there and I know. But Wurzel managed somehow.

That will bring down the monarchy.

Unless of course most folk think, well, Charles III is a silly looking sod, but harmless with it. And someone has to open the new hospitals and schools.

I was a socialist when I was a lad. Largely because all lads are socialists but also because the local Labour and Communist parties threw some great dances. But later on the Brothers and Sisters got earnest and dull and I thought, oh sod them

On climate change — we're talking, we're beginning to act, but we're still not doing enough...

I wouldnt sing the national anthem.

I fail to see what one exalted individual's relationship with a mythical supreme being has to do with the greatness of the country or it's people.
I quite like verse two
<t>In matters of taxation, Lord Clyde\'s summing up in the 1929 case Inland Revenue v Ayrshire Pullman Services is worth a glance.</t>

Probably not.

Towards the end it was estimated that a quarter of the paramilitaries on both sides were in the pay of British Intelligence, so I imagine that the rest were worried about becoming inactive (ie dead) terrorists
Doesn't change the fact that the powers that be agreed with him, after the fact they took out a few of the Tories in Brighton. So obviously those in the pay British Intelligence didn't know so much. In fact, now the latest bunch of royals say they were doing their bit for peace in NI. Whether that is true or not is another matter, but it would put them at direct odds with the Tory party representatives here, which gave me a right giggle.
Just because I don't say anything, it doesn't mean I haven't noticed!

Yes, and not that long ago. Just one of many links:-
https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/ex-tory-councillor-says-hes-25563897
He shared a doctored image, the pictures of Corbyn with Adams, Hezbollah and Hamas are not doctored, neither is the video of him calling them his friends.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

You seem to forget that's exactly what they did to achieve peace. Corbyn was simply ahead of his time in recognising the need. The queen herself even shook the hand of Martin McGuinness.
The queen was unfortunately born into a life of doing many things she neither liked nor agreed with, shaking the hand of a terrorist was probably not high on her list of achievements.

Corbyn was present at a ceremony to pay tribute to Hamas fighters and lay a wreath, he wouldn't even sing the national anthem.
