Whilst I appreciate the humour Nick,it can't be worse than it is.

Well might as well be,lord snooty as business secretary,Minnie the minx as truss and Rodger the dodger kwarteng.

A comic well it would be funny if it wasn't so dire and that's the state we are in,btw I always read the eagle :P.

Anyway how long will she last, throw Kwasi under the bus first?

So did my dad. You are showing your age. lol

For me it was 2000AD, one of whose characters was resurrected from the Eagle - Dan Dare.

Though probably the best known character in 2000AD was Judge Dredd.

When a bit younger I used to read the Beano, in which Denis the Menace always got a good slippering across his arse at the end of every misadventure.

I leafed through a copy of the Beano recently and was amused to discover that Denis the Menace no longer gets a slippering. He gets sent to the naughty step. lol

And if the money markets are throwing a strop because the government wants to cut corporation tax and make UK PLC somewhat less business friendly than usual, then Christ knows what will happen when the taxes go back up.

Truss has a lot of ground to make up and she wont do that by making people poorer . Every time she was questioned yesterday in Parliament she replied ' Ive given people help with their gas bills' .  Yes  great stuff Liz what about interest rates and rising prices ?

She has limited support among her own MP's so can't afford to start sacking those who support her . The end will come as soon as they start voting on her policies in parliament . When nothing gets passed she will have to go , the MP's need to act fast if they are to save their jobs ,they really dont have much time .  Im thinking New Year at the latest .

The Eagle cromwell ?  Good choice ;)

Well, one of the reasons for the collapse of the Commonweal was that Cromwell's government had raised taxes to unprecedented levels, so I don't see how those Tory MPs demanding that the PMs tax cuts be reversed expect to make themselves overly popular.

And if the money markets are throwing a strop because the government wants to cut corporation tax and make UK PLC somewhat less business friendly than usual, then Christ knows what will happen when the taxes go back up.

The comic strip has been going on far before Truss Cromwell...

The UK has been in a state of comic relief since the Johnson administration.

As for how long she can last? She either needs to go very soon or she will lead into the next election. We are talking about two years here. I don't see the Tories doing well with Truss as leader in the next election so if MPs want to stand a chance in keeping their jobs they need to oust her ASAP. But that is not how Tories think. They might think I have two years in a cushy number and I would rather be sacked in two years than risk an early GE and lose those two cushy years.
