Not really sure how they will apply these policies in Basildon. Dancing

They appear to be an anti immigration and business party that is keen to recruit ethnics. If we sent Pat down there they would probably beat him up and then demand more police on the beat to arrest them :)

Strange one this . Why didn't the ruling council (cons) or labour the main opposition put anyone forward for this seat ?

The 15% turnout is maybe a sign of things to come nationally and the opportunity that will give to independents with a few mates to get elected

They have won a council seat, listening to this lot they are the main opposition party.
Just because I don't say anything, it doesn't mean I haven't noticed!

Starting out as the NF, becoming the BNP, changing into the BDP with a bit of Ukip thrown in, and now running as British Democrats, they have won a Basildon by-election...

Extremists always tend to prosper at times of political and economic disarray.

Sad but true fact.
We are not all in the same boat. We are in the same storm. Some of us have yachts. Some of us have canoes. Some of us are drowning.

It's been mentioned before that a political void will allow the rise of more extreme parties.
