Gerry's shtick used to be that the Irish farmers were going to closed down the bacon mines and leave us all to starve to death for daring to leave the EU. I was rather looking forward to it because, to be honest, I could lose a pound or two.

Corruption is alright if the money goes on wine, women and well, even more wine and women, but if you are going to waste the money on a pot of brilliant white emulsion well, that is going a bit too far

mine went on growing hydroponic lettuce.

someone up the road asked the eu to support their investigation into hydroponic culture to avoid the chlorine washed lettuce issue

naturally we took our share of the money (90% of it IIRC) when asked to waste a few months looking into it
