Back in 2007 the NHS Transplant Coordination Team actually put a declaration on the NHS website that black and minority ethnic people needed more transplants than white people and that the BAME community was culturally less likely to consider organ donation.

This rather explained why the NHS were given the right to take your organs whether you liked it or not (I made sn instant application to be putnon the objections register which was strangely LOST by the Welsh NHS Trust round here.

The Plaid MEP and AM fir the region both campaigned on the basis that forced presumed consent was SO *NOT* the way to go and that the only ethical way forward was a head on campaign to persuade people to consent, but the labour bastards in the assembly steamrollered their objections.

The BBC could do a lot better with the angle in which they cover such stories . They give the impression these folk are victims of our society when in fact they are victims of their own

We have an opt in system which assumes we are all potential donors unless we state otherwise so you have to assume they are actually opting out .

Maybe the BBC should be asking what voodoo witch is filling these peoples heads with nonsense ,might get some better results on the transplant front

An odd article.

Most of me is worn out, but once I am dead the medics are at liberty to cut out any bits that are of any use. A friend has just popped his clogs, and although he had more or less disintegrated as a result of the cancer, the quacks managed to harvest his eyeballs and enable someone else to see. Not only is that the right thing to do, it should cut down on the cremation expenses, although I have yet to check with his widow :)

Not sure whether the BBC are trying to stir it up again, but the headline would suggest they are.

"Black families are also less likely to agree to organ donation than white families, the figures show."

For me the headline stops there, but the BBC carry on, and they wonder why tensions rise.

That Black people are less likely to give up their body parts for other black people, which actually shows there is a difference between races but its white peoples fault? Is that where we are heading?
Just because I don't say anything, it doesn't mean I haven't noticed!

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
