Well, as i posted elsewhere, Mr D Willis started his butcher's shop in Cwmbran because the family farm was getting a bum deal from Sainsburys and god knows how many years later the shop has doubled in size but stays focussed on selling raw meat in one unit and cooked meats, pies and takeaway meat products in the other.

They seem to be able to sell at prices below Sainsburys although in their shoes i'd do my damndest to undercut tbe big S on principle and over the considerable time i've bought from them i've not once been disappointed.

there are two other independent butchers within a couple of miles and i'd choose any of these over the hypermarket retailers for meat.

Morrisons has for a while now turned away from its 'market street' counter approach and it is a shame. They were the last LARGE retailer round here where i could go and ask a butcher to cut me a joint off what was lying under a glass screen on a counter.
My butcher only does raw also, he can't be bothered with all the different coloured chopping boards.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

The eternally miserable are once again moaning about the quality of food you get in supermarkets. Just like budget airlines, they are cheaper for a reason, and that reason is quality. Why not support your local butcher like I do? We're on first name terms and I always get top notch meat.

<t>In matters of taxation, Lord Clyde\'s summing up in the 1929 case Inland Revenue v Ayrshire Pullman Services is worth a glance.</t>
