Amsterdam tells British sex-and-drug tourists: Stay away!
Dutch capital launches ad campaign to scare off drunken (male) Brits.

"So, coming to Amsterdam for a messy night? Stay away."
That's the message from Amsterdam city authorities, who have launched an online advertising campaign to warn visitors against "let[ting] loose" in the Dutch capital.
People who look up terms like "stag party Amsterdam," "cheap hotel Amsterdam" or "pub crawl Amsterdam" on the internet ahead of a visit to the Dutch city will be shown short videos stressing "the risks and consequences of nuisance and excessive alcohol and drug use," the city of Amsterdam said in a statement.

Initially targeting "British men aged 18 to 35," the campaign could be extended to tourists from the Netherlands or EU countries "in the course of the year," the statement read.

On climate change — we're talking, we're beginning to act, but we're still not doing enough...

Streetwalker

Can't see that much has changed bar you will have to stay inside the bars  rather than walking the streets at all hours .

To be fair though anyone who hasnt had enough partying by 3am needs to go out to play earlier

So more restrictions on individual freedom in a country once renowned for its social freedoms.

But it is being done by democratically elected politicians so if its the will of the people that is up to them. If it is not the people can have their say at the ballot box soon enough.

But it is the pigging Netherlands. A democratic country. It is not here. So why should we even give a F@@@ either way? Not our problem nor our business. They can do what they like. Its their country.
Actually renowned for police turning a blind eye rather than for truly libertarian views. The cannabis cafes have always been breaking the law in terms of obtaining a supply of material, and it was never intended for tourist use.

We are not all in the same boat. We are in the same storm. Some of us have yachts. Some of us have canoes. Some of us are drowning.

Amsterdam bans cannabis in its red light district - BBC News

It will soon be illegal to smoke cannabis on the street in Amsterdam's red light district under new regulations unveiled by the city.
The laws will come into effect from mid-May and aim to improve liveability for residents who have long complained of disruption caused by tourists.
Sex workers will also have to close their venues at 3am.
Local media reported that almost all councillors supported taking action to reduce nuisance to residents.
The city council also announced on Thursday that restaurants and bars would have to close by 2am on Fridays and Saturdays and no new visitors would be allowed into the old city district after 1am.
Currently, the sale of alcohol from shops, liquor stores and cafes in the red light district is illegal from Thursday to Sunday after 4pm. Now, the council will ask vendors to completely remove alcohol from their shopfronts during that time, or hide them from view.
It is illegal to consume alcohol in most public spaces in Amsterdam.
