Anecdotal evidence I admit, but everything I have bought recently and which bears the legend Made in China, has been definitely below par.

The latest has been a set of Christmas tree lights. The string broke into two parts when I put the lights on the tree. Not a big thing because, to be honest, I never expect fairy lights to work anyway. But even so, it was something I could have done without. That said, I have the wire strippers, connection strip, tape and such and am looking forward to putting everything back together. Which raises the question, are we about to see the UK emerge as bodgers to the world ?
Regardless of whether China created the pox, they suffered really bad during lockdown. For example, there were over a 120,000 restaurants in Shanghai pre-Covid and they were all made to close for months, a lot didn't survive. There used to be copy markets everywhere, selling knockoff copies of everything, most of them didn't survive either. I'm guessing the Chinese tat shops didn't make it either.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Streetwalker

Its fast becoming a pre Christmas tradition that when unpacking the decorations from the loft that we have to fix all the lights that were working perfectly well when we put them away after eating more chocolates from the advent calendar than are left we finally give up and buy a new set I reckon they are rigged not to work a second time round therefore forcing us to buy another set from China via amazon .

If you managed to read that without taking a breath you haven't got asthma .Its a new test I have invented to save the NHS ,you can stand outside your front door and clap me later .

Mass immigration from the third world has indeed given the UK an opportunity to challenge China in the crap goods market . Brits would struggle to make things that don't work its not in our DNA but get a few hundred Somalians ,Afgani's and Bangladeshi's on the case and I reckon we might crack the things that don't work market .
Ive already lined up a gang of lads to sell the stuff down Peckham high street if you can sort out the production side Borky , this time next year we will be millionaires
Its a Brexit bonus Union Flag
