Good post, Nick.

Yes, I've been to Netanya and Jerusalem. It was just before the second Lebanon war started and tensions were high. In fact I think they are always on edge.

Trumps "deal of the century" has gone down like a lead balloon with some, but most Arabs in the West Bank, or Judea and Samaria do NOT want to become Palestinian. Being in Israel gives them wealth and security.

In the last 48 hours 2 Palestinians belonging to "Islamic Jihad" approached the border carrying a large IED and were planting it. They then wait for an IDF patrol to go by and set it off by remote control. People on Twitter say this is OK because it is happening on their side of the border and the IDF should not interfere.

However, as Israel are under constant threat from Hamas and other terror groups in Gaza, they eliminated the 2 planting the bomb. They won't be planting any more.

Of course, a few hours later the rockets started, then followed IDF attacks on "Islamic Jihad" positions.

And so it goes on.

I've worked in Israel a couple of times and it's a funny old place, the people have been hardened over the years but are still friendly. I was up in Netanya which unlike places like Ashdod is out of range from Gaza luckily, but the Israelis still live with the reality that if a jet attack came from Iran for example they would have 1 minutes warning from the moment it crossed the border to being over Tel Aviv. Based on that I kind of understand their reactive nature but that still doesn't excuse their annexing activities.

The other side to this, and one that is rarely broadcast is that Jerusalem has an Arab quarter, right next to the Western Wall, where Muslims and the Jewish work and live side by side in perfect harmony. In fact, can see the Mosque of al-Aqua near the Mount of Olives right next to the city of David.

Another little tale was when I was in a bar called Uranus (not that kind of bar 😂 or anus) when there was an almighty explosion and I ended up on my arse but with beer in fact. Someone had nicked a load of copper gas pipe and just left all the gas flowing in a load of flats with shops underneath. Google gas explosion in Netanya and you'll get the scale of the explosion. Had to change my pants though........ They were all covered in dust 😉
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
