So even with tighter controls we have seen that  these nutcase dogs have no place in society . I get the owners have a different view that their dog is a gentle giant but really , do they want to be the next one saying its never killed anyone before ?

Slightly more palatable when it's the owner that gets it rather than an innocent person, but as you say there is no place for them.
