My mother had a suspected heart attack 2 days ago (it wasn't luckily), I am away so my wife took her to A&E. They were the only ones in the waiting room.

I have had outpatient appts cancelled because the staff/nurses are needed in other areas of the hospital. A friend is a trainee physio and he thinks he may be called to work rather than continue his training through a hospital placement. Another physio on outpatients said that she had been warned that she would be on the wards and a friend who works for the council has received forms asking what expertise they have. She used to be a chef and was told to expect to be in hospital kitchens.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

That's because visiting has been banned.

Perhaps calm before the expected storm.

Maybe so but it suggests to me also people are only going there if they really need to, I wonder if visiting has been banned.

Well I was at the ARI today and I've never seen a hospital so quiet in my life. If I seen 5 people inside the hospital, and 3 of them were staff that would be it.

I was surprised but pleased it was so quiet whilst I slunk in and out  :D

Ref Sky News - G-tech working on making ventilators have been told the NHS needs 30,000!!!

So they have done a deal so say at cost with the private medical sector. 8000 beds, 20,000 staff (is that secretaries as well as nurses?) and over a 1000 ventilators. So corvid19 in comfort if we're lucky.
