Probably , there is one line on my family tree that ventures into land ownership in North Yorkshire .
My late father always spoke of it indicating that a windfall would be coming our way as cousin  so and so didn't have any kids so and so was dead and Auntie so and so was disowned ect .

Anyway when I picked up the phone a few years back to ''Hello Heir Hunters here '' I remembered what the silly old sod had told me when the next line was '' we are looking for your late fathers second wife''

So seeing as I didn't get anything out of it Im not putting my hands up but seriously we probably have all had ancestors both slave owner and slave alike .

Any Moslems in there ?
Unlikely, as the database concerns British slave-ownership. Added to which most of the Islamic world would have got its cotton and sugar from North Africa and Asia.
But a good attempt at "Please Miss, he's doing it too"...
On climate change — we're talking, we're beginning to act, but we're still not doing enough...

You would have to check that for yourself I am not trawling through 46000 records.
I was only interested in my ancestors.

Access to the database of 46000 slave owners who got compensation under the Slave Owners Compensation Act 1837.
(I can't find anyone related to me on it.)
