Shielding, welfare check, (that is not a spelling error.)

So four months into me being told to shield because of covid-19, I have just received a phone call from Cornwall Council checking on my welfare. (If no-one had answered I wonder if they would have sent someone to check if I was still alive.)
Some other people I know who are shielding have been told to shield beyond August the 1st. I have seen no national advice about it.
