Watson was in danger of loosing his seat anyway and was probably why he had pushed for a second referendum before an election . Still there goes another one  ,

It is coming unravelled for them now.
Just because I don't say anything, it doesn't mean I haven't noticed!

Even pollical meetings can be amusing to those who have a broad and good sense of humour, only those who take themselves too seriously miss it

It was entertaining to see this chick deal with just about everyone in the room except the c with the mobile camera who thought she was a crooked stooge of the transgender establishment. My mind was wondering, as Orwell would have mused, that surely the proles could see it was bent and the politics is being dragged to the level of the sewer. But then one is reminded that this is unlikely.

Whether it be the Guardian(Barry's favourite paper), Independent, BBC or Channel 4 News, they are all the same political animal, and extremely unrepresentative of this country.

Lord Pearson's media research group found the BBC only had 3% of people on Radio 4 who were for Brexit, compared to 97% who were dead against it at a time when the general population and BBC tax payer was about 50/50. These organisations are government propaganda machines of the communist era.

Re the numbers standing down - apparently not as many this time as in 2010. So perhaps it is fairly normal.

Well it does seem every time they mess the country up big time they retire in droves,so maybe they think they haven't done enough damage yet.

Out of curiosity how many MP's usually stand down when a general election is called? Would be good to know what is normal attrition and what is down to other causes.

I am however concerned that we are experiencing a shift towards political extremes in the political parties of the UK which is in nobodies interest given it makes cross-party working much more difficult and enables party leaders to pysh through more extreme policies.

I can't think of numbers, frankly,in the majority of cases I can think of they called it a day for one of three reasons

Millions of mobile phones have cameras and video recording facilities you are never more than a few feet away from one , I won't lose any sleep over it

 :shrg:

Ah but not all have undercover women working for Channel 4 a few feet away. Imagine one of these idiot chicks out of Extinction Rebellion as a kind of archetype of the kind the UKIP got that night. The man who it was directed at on the stage pretty much told her to piss off, followed by a large cheer from the crowd.

Well last night I was watching them. They sneak mobile phone cameras into UKIP meetings and talk so much sht that one would think they were the opposition party.

Quite a lot. This time it is about 50 whereas in 2010 it was about 140.

So it's entirely possible people are reading too much into this?

Granted there will be individual cases where it's likely the MP's can expect to lose in the general election or are just tires of the way things are now and so won't bother standing.

Are you saying MP's are not allowed to think and are simply put in place just to rubber stamp everything put before the House without question?

Yes and you won't last long saying things like she said. Nor do I believe the papers either because they are signed up to it. The papers are now an unofficial political party. See how Channel 4 behaves. It puts its manifesto out on many reports.
