On climate change — we're talking, we're beginning to act, but we're still not doing enough...

So you reckon that as the story's been covered, a prime news outlet shouldn't highlight the fact little appears to have been been done about it since...?

Covered years ago. This was the result and is still failing:-

That is an old "news" item, it has been happening for a very long time.

Auntie is doing her best but lately she seems to struggling for news items.

Would that be because unlike , most other news outlets , Leading the race to Up to date ,contentious stories, and drawing any conclusions on a subject , could interfere with their future. ? All becomes an insipid game of play safe for the BBC.

Could be. The Beeb always reminds me of the Extinction Rebellion protests. The latter ran around London making a tremendous fuss while everyone  smiled indulgently. And then they tried to stop the tube trains and the commuters said enough was enough and gave the eco warriors a kicking and that was the end of the protests.

Auntie is pretty much the same. It has spent years pumping out all the news that Islington sees fit to broadcast but as soon as it sees its license fee under threat it loses its bottle. The silly thing is that if it adopted a policy of sod the lot of you, we are going down with the guns firing and the bands playing it would probably attract back its lost audiences. A lot of folk would not like it but watch because they respect a game 'em. But the Beed ain't like that.

Maybe the election of a Labour government would reinstate their balls. If so , and it is only an if, the kicking actually happens at the ballot box. Is it more a case of only wanting to hear what we want to hear, depending on who is the flavour of the next five years?
