Feck Bosch  , I brought an English  one with a lifetime guarantee 40 years ago and its still going strong  . Started slowing down a bit a couple of years ago but picked up speed again when I threatened to trade it in .
If you want a UK-made machine, I suggest you put your name down and/or start saving for one now — there doesn't appear to be much choice and prices are high.
For cleaners, our main machines are Henry. Bit bulky but rugged and not too unwieldy...

Went to our pre-booked slot at a local tip (Recycling Centre) and saw several Dyson cleaners. Managed to get a tube off one to replace our bent trodden-on one. Not really impressed with the cleaner, which seems a slightly more convenient, but expensive version of a dustpan and brush, but Mrs likes it...

LEC for fridges, CDA** for wine coolers, STOVES and New World for hobs and cookers, and Ebac for washing machines. Not a lot, but the UK's own. Dyson is scheduled to move out next year...

**Could be Polish, but the wine coolers appear to be British made!!!

then the UK could need its home manufacturers to up their game.

What home manufacturers?

So is the EU going to expect tariffs to be paid on goods loaded on a lorry at one end of a road outside their border and unloaded on another outside their borders ?  And if so why...
If the UK has no deal with either the EU or Turkey, but Turkey has a deal with the EU which imposes some restrictions on who else it can deal with, then the UK could need its home manufacturers to up their game — depends on the tarifs the UK imposes.
Or maybe deals with the EU are like open marriages and are free and easy...

Ask Dominic Cummings. Apparently it will be his fault if there is a crash out with no deal.

Had a couple of Bosch dishwashers delivered and installed this afternoon and I was interested to note they are made in Turkey. I was aware that several international brand TV,  and audio equipment, and domestic appliances were made or assembled there, but I was interested to see a major European brand also using Turkish manufacturing skills.
Will UK-based manufacturers get a boost when such goods, shipped in via the EU, are priced more highly...?
