Well, I doubt 'mass' unemployment will happen as the doom peddlers make out. But speaking as one still furloughed, I expect to be told to.take early retirement...

The unemployment is already hitting. Employers who now have to start making some of the payments to the 80% total the employee receives have decided to start the layoffs.

I am totally convinced we would have a mad max scenario now if the scheme had not been implemented because we would have had nothing to lose.
<t>In matters of taxation, Lord Clyde\'s summing up in the 1929 case Inland Revenue v Ayrshire Pullman Services is worth a glance.</t>

Mass unemployment will happen. At least that is sadly what I suspect.

It could be, in theory, over 6 million by early next year with a hard Brexit to add to Covid 19.

We are not all in the same boat. We are in the same storm. Some of us have yachts. Some of us have canoes. Some of us are drowning.
