Where I live is very much a Tory marginal, the Lib Dem vote held steady but the Tory vote increased enough to win, however I suspect that was due to the few Labour voters in the constituency voting Tory.
Now it has become obvious the inevitable hard Brexit will be a disaster locally, those borrowed vote will disappear.

6.3% isn't an insignificant amount. Based on 65,000 people it is reasonable.
