Hell would only exist if they wanted it to. And apparently they do want it to exist.

You are living with the belief that mankind is in charge. They are not. How can we be when we have no proper understanding even of time? It is really hard in this world to accept a greater power. The adversary, often called the king of all lies, has sucess fully persuaded so many of the greatness of mankind. I presume the Christian Church of course but there are many all teaching differing doctrine so how would anyone know which to follow?

So yes a day of prayer with a 24 hour fast added for good measure to concentrate our individual spirits, but God does not blow hot and cold as sometimes we do. To honour Him our prayers should be continuous/regular with Him constantly in our hearts through both times of trouble and times of peace.
