Shaun Bailey, Tory London mayoral candidate, reckons London's Tube stations could be renamed through lucrative advertising deals.

Bailey says this could bring in £100m a year, and cites  the Dubai Metro which has allowed companies to bid for naming rights of underground stations. He says the plan would bolster TfL's dire financial situation, after it was given a £1.6bn government bailout earlier this year.

Good stuff, but given TfL's usual incompetence, how does he reckon tube maps are going to be kept up to date?

Gillespie Road became Arsenal in 1932 — time enough for most to get used to it. But think of the confusion if Green Park was renamed Orange, and Blackfriars was Next...

well, i admit i was rather surprised to find when I was preparing the data extracts for TfL customers to tell them about planned maintenance I had to include users of the Emirates Air Line.

I wondered why until i realised it was a cable car across the thames and sod all to do with heathrow

Upton Park might be called Downton Abbey?

Although Euston and Euston Square might do with a change to avoid confusion.

On climate change — we're talking, we're beginning to act, but we're still not doing enough...
